Good morning america gig news @ 04:03 pm

films:
Was looking online for it and I found this printed today

It was all very hush-hush, except that these things always leak: U2, in New York March 2-6 for a week-long stand on "The Late Show with David Letterman," caps its stint in the Big Apple with a "secret" performance Friday, March 6, at Fordham University.

Don't go canceling your Friday plans, though: a Sound Check source reports that it's a Fordham-only show, and says it'll require a university ID (a Fordham ID in your name, that is) to get anywhere near campus that day.

Professors have reportedly been told by the administration to cancel morning classes "for security reasons." The band is expected to play at Fordham after appearing on "Good Morning America."

U2's new album, "No Line on the Horizon," comes out Tuesday.

It always kind of irks me a bit when bands play gigs for private universities.

dissapointing given that the GMA website in its originaly posting told people to stay tuned to see how they could attend... and of course now they can't.

also dissapointing because if you wanted to do a show exclusively for a college West Point is only about an hour for the city and a much more deserving location at least in my opinion.

Not to start anything, but may I ask why?

Damn this student-only thing... I went to Fordham for a year, living in their dorms, and at the end of the year they took the IDs away from resident students for whatever reason. This must be at the Bronx campus though since Lincoln Center doesn't even HAVE a campus...
