When the album cover was revealed last month, a U.S. musician pointed out the similarities with an album he had released a few years ago. Both albums use the same Sugimoto photo.

McGrath also decided to put in the graphic artist's equivalent of a "hidden track." Somewhere in the liner notes, there is a reference to something famous in the fields of art and science. McGrath says that not even the band know it's there, but he expects it to be uncovered by a sharp-eyed fan "just hours after the album goes on release."

Ok, so who's found the "hidden track"?

How do you get the liner notes if you buy the album off iTunes?

I checked it out and couldn't find anything. I'm not the brightest mind at all either on this sort of thing so I probably passed right over it.

Nice stuff there though. I may go out and pick up the album just to have this stuff on paper instead of having to open a PDF each time.

Maybe the longitute and latitude locations sprinkled throughout the liner notes? I have the version with the 32 page booklet, if that makes any difference. There's a front page and a back page, both with a location, and one in the middle with NINE. I only bothered to look up the one on the front page, which is somewhere in Paris. But that's as far as I got before I got bored.

If the first one is Paris, maybe some of the others are in Spain, which would follow the storyline in Anton Cobijn's Linear?
