Hello Hello!!

March 17th, 2009

Which song makes them...4 boys from Dublin? @ 04:40 pm

jayelde:
I'm currently feelin: curious curious
I'm currently hearin: Kite - U2

In honour of St Patrick's Day....I pose a little question for random discussion...

What is U2's most Irish song...?

(no qualification there...it could be "Irish" because of to the music/sound or the lyrics...maybe the story behind it...the song's imagery...or just the general "vibe"...and so on...)

I'm gonna second tommorrow. I know it's non-U2, but Bono did a duet with Sinead O'Connor 'You Made Me the Thief of Your Heart' that was pretty irish sounding too.

How about 'Sunday Bloody Sunday'? Irish protest song, Irish history. Also, 'Wild Irish Rose', the storytelling ballad.

I'm not sure which is more Irish to me...

I don't know "tomorrow" but I remember Van Demien's Land ...that sounded wwwaaayyy Irish to me. Hmmm... That was the Joshua Tree. There were more Irish tunes, I'm sure...

This song reminds me of the West in the USA. Probably because it talks about the desert and crooked crosses (I've seen deserted ghost towns with such imagery). Then again, I could be waaaay off.

Sunday Bloody Sunday. And sadly, it doesn't look they'll ever be able to quit singing it.

I agree with Tomorrow. All of October sounds Irish to me. Sunday Bloody Sunday too. And Van Diemen's Land.

I don't really remember Tomorrow so I'd say Sunday Bloody Sunday, In God's Country, Gloria and A Sort of Homecoming
