I'm currently feelin: crushed crushed

I am so unhappy right now. The GA tickets were already sold out for the NYC show by the time the Boots presale came around. So now I have 4 seated tickets in the Mezzanine. That isn't bad, I guess, but this was going to be my first U2 concert and I've been looking forward to it for years.

Do any of you know whether I can get GA tickets later somehow? How would I find them? Any advice would be super-appreciated.

Of course, if anyone on here wants to swap tickets or has GA tickets that they no longer want, I'm perfectly willing to work something out.

There's always the general sale. And keep watching TM in the coming months, because tickets sometimes drop. The people who get lucky down the line are the ones who check TM daily.

Try for the general sale, watch ticketmaster, and go to the box office the day of. That's how I got tickets to nearly ever MSG show I went to last tour- going to the box office the day of the show and waiting for tickets to drop.

I've had success with this as well in the past, but definitely NOT for GA tickets if that's what you want.

Do you really think that they sold all the GA tickets to the members of the U2 fanclub??????

There are ticket exchanges set up on Facebook and on zootopia at u2.com. Best of luck.

Either way, you're going to have a great time, so be happy you've got tickets!

You're right, of course. I posted immediately after buying the tickets and was sort of down in the mouth. :)

You know, it would be great if the band/U2.com announced anything about the presales besides when they're starting. Overall, they've been better organized, but it would be nice to know if they're holding any tickets back for general sales, just like it would've been nice to see seating charts with prices prior to the presales starting.

It seems even different stadiums have had different price level layouts. I got a seat in the first $95 lower section for Boston, but when I tried to get a similar seat for Chicago (figuring I'll sell/trade later since I can probably only do one show if it involves big traveling or two if I can do road trips), it seemed like the entire first two levels in the front 3/4 of the stadium were $250.

I feel badly for people who couldn't get what they wanted, but don't lose hope. There's a pretty good network of fans out there who will offer to trade or sell. I think it's also possible for a lot of these shows that scalpers will overestimate the demand and will end up having a lot more tickets than they need, which means they'll be selling them at or below face value close to the show.

Yeah. I don't want to complain because it has been a pretty smooth process overall, considering the sheer number of people they're dealing with. But I can't see how more complete information up front would have been particularly problematic.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed with regards to GA tickets. There do seem to be several options out there and I'm prepared to pay a little extra if I have to. This might be the only show I get to go to so I want to make it good!

Oh, I know! I had the same thing happen to me with the Chicago show. I got stuck with Level 400 tickets. I really wanted GA tickets... :(

Apparently there will be GA tickets available at the general sale. So maybe it's worth trying there and then selling your old ones if you're successful?

I can almost guarantee that even if you're up in the nosebleeds, it will still be an amazing and entirely visible show. When I saw them in Cleveland I was sooo far away but it was so great because it's U2, damnit!
Best of luck though.

I know. I'm mostly over my initial disappointment and back to being excited again. But thanks!

So the same thing happened to me last year in the presale but I was able to get general admission off the regular sale. Just make sure to be ready to go the second the sale starts.

I guess it's a good thing I was too bloody busy these last few weeks to sign up for the fanclub.  I would have hated to spend the extra $50, only to find out the tickets I really wanted were already sold out.

I'm hoping that they reserved a certain number of GA tickets for the pre-sales and that rest of them will be released during the general sale.  There's usually a ton of room on the stadium fields - I can't believe ALL of them were sold during the presale.  I hope...

From everything I've heard (and I did a LOT of looking around yesterday), they've almost definitely kept a large number of GA tickets for the general sale. So there should be some for non fan-club members.

But yeah, it sort of sucks to sign up and still not get the tickets you want. I should probably have waited it out and used my code on the extra shows that they will almost inevitably announce. But oh well.

Last tour, I decided I wanted to go to the Charlotte, NC show about 2 months before and bought GA tix on eBay. They were obviously more expensive (but I think I got 2 for $150), but you could always sell yours after you bought those.
Stubhub is pretty good too, but I've never used them.

Yeah, there are already a bunch on eBay and I assume more will show up after the general sale/closer to the date. Am keeping my fingers crossed. :)
