360 Tour DVD? @ 09:24 am

rockingthemike:
I'm currently feelin: hopeful hopeful

Has anyone heard word if any of the shows were filmed for DVD release? I have fallen in love with "Ultra Violet" all over again after seeing them in Toronto, and can't wait to see a performance of it again.

I would LOVE a DVD and hope they do one!

I'd love for it to be one of the NJ shows at Giants Stadium [since I was there hahaha].

I can't BELIEVE they performed 'Ultraviolet.' I crapped in my pants from happiness!!! They never cease to please.

I haven't heard any news about a DVD release yet, but I wish it would be released already! I can't wait to relive this experience and to watch it as much as I want in good quailty. (:

I was at the 2nd London show and I think it was the best one thus far on this tour, lol. I wish they'd release it on DVD, but I didn't see extra cameras and stuff like that so I doubt it would be this one.

I know, Ultraviolet was fantastic! I went nuts when they played it at the first night in Chicago. Absolutely amazing.

Awww. "Poor" Kiwi, though? I'd trade places with you for a year or something. I really want to go there.

Hopefully you guys'll get shows next year. :/ Did you go to the Vertigo ones? The Aussie ones especially were supposed to be incredible, right?

Can you please give me a link to the site where you took this info from?

I dont imagine a link will work if you're not a subscriber to u2.com, but if you are its up there under Willies Diary under the news section, the entry dated 27 Sept.

Otherwise I've copied and pasted the relevant paragraph and if mr williams or u2.com want to grumble at me, too bad! ;)

"It's an entirely different experience from up there and in terms of the spectacle in many ways it's a better vantage point than from lower down. We moved around the building a good deal during the show, which was really fun as well as being highly educational. We're going to be shooting this show some time soon, so it's crucial to understand how it looks from all angles and really the only way to do this properly is to get on yer boots and tramp around the stadium. I really enjoy being in amongst the audience anyway - especially looking back at a section of seats when I know something special is about to happen to see people's reactions. It's a real privilege to bring so much happiness to some many people at one time."

Thank you! No, I don't have a U2.com subscription so I can't read his dairy. ): I just think that 50$ is a lot of many for a site subscription.

His latest entry from 22/9 also mentions the DVD shoot:

"We're fully into the onslaught of extracurricular activities now - Saturday Night Live at the weekend, plus planning for the inevitable broadcast / DVD shoot which his coming up and then there's Gavin Friday's gig at Carnegie Hall which we're all getting involved with. This, plus preparing for the Big New York Shows (actually held in New Jersey) is more than enough to fill every waking hour."

They always do a VHS/DVD. It's only a matter of time before they put one out. Vertigo was shot a number of times. Chicago, Milan, and pretty much all of South America.

My friend has tickets to the show in Virginia and apparently they were informed that their show will be filmed for the tour DVD.

Despite what Willie said in his diaries, I think they've already shot the footage for the dvd. The guys wore the exact same clothes for all the US gigs up to Boston and in Toronto we had an excessive number of cameras going around. All adds up to dvd footage to me. But we'll see in a year or so.

that's interesting, because it really did not look like there were any extra cameras the first night in toronto... that said (because i can even take my grain of salt with a grain of salt), bono did appear to stand in place a lot during that show (better for filming/editing). would be fanstic if part of the dvd was shot during a show i was at!!

I'd have to check with bonoffee whether it was Toronto 1 or 2 when there were an extra three outer rail cameras going around (making a total of five!) but it was more disruptive than we would have liked.
