UPDATE TO THE UPDATE:

weve added a third. now the roommate wants to go... so were on the hunt for THREE tickets for the Los Angeles Rose Bowl show...

the reasoning:
--i have a job now and i couldnt fly to my hometown to see them on my birthday last week in houston. plus theyre my favorite band, naturally
--shes turning 30 on tuesday and would like to go
--roommie has only a few bands hes ever wanted to see and didnt know they were playing... (and let him know if robbie williams ever tours as well)

does anybody have an extra TWO tickets for the Los Angeles,Pasadena show on October 25? it feel it best to think of my lady as well. ( it is her 30th birthday on tuesday so as much as id love to be on the floor solo, i must procure some seats, cause well, she's a short one and it would be a great surprise)

i recently started a new job and am finally able to afford a ticket..well, not most of the higher priced ones, but anything to get us inside the stadium.
thanks

so i am now on the hunt for two tickets. thanks!

you're so welcome!

if you hear of anyone who needs a GA, just let me know. it is KILLING me that i can't be there.

as for people who charge ridiculous prices, clearly, they're not fans.

good luck!

I know that not everyone feels the same about everything, but are you sure your gf will mind GA just because she's short? I'm saying this because I'm much shorter than even most short people, and I wouldn't mind GA at all. The only reason I've never done it is that I preferred to share the experience with my friends, and none of them were ever in good enough health either to stand for that long, to possibly be horribly jostled (not that anyone would intentionally be violent, but you know how things happen unintentionally in crowds), or both.

So I also understand why you want to make sure it's a good experience for her, too, if she's going along. I'm just thinking she might have a different idea about GA than you think she does. Or you guys could have already talked about it and I'm totally off the mark! :oP I just know that I've had plenty of concert experiences where I have been in a seat and still almost completely unable to see a darned thing. However it works out, I hope you both have the wonderful, even transcendental experience that I've had at some of U2's shows. I've seen many, many wonderful shows in my life, from rock concerts to Broadway shows to some of the finest dancers the world has ever seen, and nothing can really touch U2. :o)

Oh, I guess I should have said I'm 4'11" so you won't think I'm just talking crap. :o)

ive done the GA experience before and its an awesome, yet grueling few hours. depending on when you arrive and what time you leave...(we were at the rose bowl recently for a futbol game and it was 3 miles of walking afterwards cause public transportation was so slow..)

whilst I think it would be all worth the headache, she wouldnt be up for it.

at 5'0, any boost up she could get would be appreciated...

Ah, well there you go with the different feelings from different folks. It doesn't make the least bit of difference to me if I can't see the stage because I'm staring into the shoulder blades of the person in front of me, or into the neck area with a bunch of hair surrounding it. Can't see is can't see. Most places won't allow patrons to stand on their seats, and, even if I can, I feel it's unfair to the people behind me.

If the seating is on a significant enough grade, and, even more, if the seats are placed so that they're not directly behind one another but rather that one is looking directly between the two seats in the next row up, it makes a big difference. Of course I also somehow usually luck into ending behind the 6'4" guy with the giant fro or something. *grin* Or, with the staggered seats, I've been behind an amorous couple who were so glued to one another that the there was no space to see through.

Believe it or not, though, in general I actually like being short. Overall, these things are not that big of a deal in life. :o)
