From my own experience in Vegas and Vancouver, and from all accounts I've heard from the US shows on this tour, you can waltz into GA after the doors open and the line has gone in, and get a spot in the inner circle.

If you want to be along the front or back rail in the inner circle, I would reccomend getting in line in the morning, as those are the prime spots. You probably don't need to be there super early, but I don't have any hard evidence for how early you need to get there for that.

If you don't care about being on the rail and just want to be in that area, then yeah - show up mid to late afternoon, or just after the doors open, and you can probably get in. You might be staring at the backs of tall people's heads and all the waving arms the whole time*, but you'll be in the circle. ;-)

*which is why I chose to stand in the back of GA - I'm short and prefer being able to see, rather than the need to be close. Plus, loads of room to dance and jump around! And a view of the whole stage - you won't get a good view of the entire Claw if you're too close. And for me, the Claw is too spectacular not to see in all its insane glory.

Okay, that was really long-winded. Sorry!
