I recommend having a look at Joe Ahorro's "Unofficial Guide to the U2 General Admission Queue" - he answers your questions and gives a lot of good advice.

I've had people tell me that this tour is best seen from afar, and I've had people tell me that there is no substitute for being as close as possible. Personally, I really liked being on the rail on the outside of the ring (I felt it was a nice compromise of the two extremes), but your mileage may vary.

Good luck!

I wish I could have done outside front rail, but... You know me and the Adam-love. Had to try to get inside. Back row inside not as nice as on Vertigo :-(

No substitution for as close as possible? Maybe once, but the stage is so much further away now that the personal connection we had in the front row on Elevation and Vertigo just didn't seem to be there in New jersey and DC last year.

Then again, maybe I'm wrong. What are you guys thinking for Philly? Anything yet other than just going?

Well, I don't think anything was as nice as it was for the Vertigo Tour. :) Then again, I did see what was arguably the worst show on the tour so far in DC... let's just move on, haha.

Not thinking anything for Philly just yet. Going with a bunch of family who have never seen U2 (all in GA), so I'm going to let the weather on the day and the prior GA lineup reports dictate when we go and where we'll try to stand this time around.

Move along, move along, nothing to see here? New Jersey wasn't terrific, either, but word that Breathe might be out as opener has me hopeful...

Never seen them? Hopefully the boys will get their 'A' game on, then. The BF was only mildly impressed in the fall; telling him about Elevation and Vertigo didn't sway him. He'll be back, but we'll see how many shows he does (I'm still trying to pick up another show or two...)
