Help with Ireland @ 10:35 am

angelkitten13:
Hey Everyone!

My husband and I are trying to make it to Europe on vacation this year. One of the places that I've pretty much demanded that we go to is Ireland. We are thinking of ferrying over from somewhere in England to Belfast, traveling down the coast to Dublin and then heading back to England.

That said, can anyone provide me with the details/directions of the "U2 walking tour" in Dublin I've seen/heard references to? Does anyone know where Windmill Lane is? (Even if they aren't "around," I'd still like to see it :) Is there anywhere else of note that I should see? I've never been to Europe before and my husband's never been to Ireland, so this will be new for both of us.

I appreciate any help I can get. And, if this type of post isn't allowed, please feel free to delete. :)

TIA.

http://www.atu2.com/dublin/ and http://www.u2tour.de/travelguide/en/Dublin.html are two excellent resources.

Hope you enjoy your trip!

There are lots of U2-related things to see (and buy!) in the Temple Bar area. Definitely visit Hanover Quay... it's worth visiting the old Windmill Lane just to say you've been there, but don't expect too much from it. Take the DART to Killiney Bay if you get the chance. And of course take a photo outside Bonavox!

I went a couple of years ago and took lots of photos which are here if you're interested. :)  (There are Berlin ones in between, we did both cities in one trip.)
