My own U2: Best of 1990-2000 CD @ 01:26 am

flashfire:
Spawning from the talk of what songs should and shouldn't have been on the album, I decided to see if I could figure out a "Best Of" of my own. The following is what I managed, and it all fits on an 80 minute CDR with about a minute and a half to spare.

Only problem is when I burned it, the software seemed to act like all the tracks were supposed to be from Achtung Baby since I led off with Zoo Station, so it fouled up the sequencing. I'll have to see if I can figure out how to do it differently. Anyone got any ideas? I used Nero and was popping in CDs left and right to grab tracks from each. I thought that'd do it, but maybe not. Maybe I have to get the track on my computer first? I thought I'd done that, too.

Anyhow, the list.

  1. Zoo Station

  2. Lemon

  3. One

  4. The Ground Beneath Her Feet

  5. Elevation

  6. Gone

  7. The Fly

  8. New York

  9. Kite

  10. Hold Me, Thrill Me, Kiss Me, Kill Me

  11. Who's Gonna Ride Your Wild Horses?

  12. Even Better Than The Real Thing

  13. Walk On

  14. Mysterious Ways

  15. Last Night On Earth

  16. Beautiful Day

  17. Acrobat

Other songs I was considering but wound up leaving off were Mofo, Stay, Staring At The Sun, and Numb.

Thoughts? I'll make an attempt at a B-sides CD as well once I've got the burning problem fixed.

Great to see "The Ground Beneath Her Feet" on someone's Best of! I love the song...but much prefer it live...like the guitar/vocals only version sung during several Elevation concerts. Therefore, an acoustic remix of TGBHF would easily make the B-sides of my own Best of.

I don't know that I've heard the live version, but ever since I heard Ground on the radio, I was waiting to find it on CD without having to get the soundtrack for the movie. I did on something that was made in the UK.

TGBHF was actually a bonus track on the Australian version of ATYCLB. So down here we all have it as a track after "Grace".

I love it!
Excellent
Oh yeah use NERO but rip the songs to your hard drive. There are many Mp3 rippers out there. Rip the songs you want to your hd, or download them, and you should be able to just put each one into nero in the order you want.

best

Thanks - do you have any suggestions for a good, simple MP3 ripper? I've tried one or two in the past but couldn't seem to figure out how to get them to work properly.

Nero tried to do these as wavs.

Replace Zoo Station with Peace On Earth and it would be perfect. ; )
