Hello Hello!!

December 7th, 2002

hmm an intricate question @ 08:58 pm

ecchinkgrl:
I'm currently feelin: cheerful cheerful
I'm currently hearin: u2 - last night on earth

hehe so i'm downloading random christmas songs, including U2 songs. but that's completely unrelated to my question. i was just listening to the live version of satellite of love, and that prompted me to think up this question...

What is your favorite live, unreleased song by U2?

(which also makes me wonder...was satellite of love ever released?)

Off the top of my head... Mystery Girl.

I'm sure there's another though.

Satellite Of Love was released as a B-Side on the "One" single. Least, I think it was "One"....although it's still just a cover as it is.

Mystery Girl was also released I think...or I may be thinking of "Slow Dancing".

Big Girls Are Best I think is an unreleased track....again, I think it is.

I dunno if "Dreaming With Tears In My Eyes" was released or not, but damn it's good.....it should be released if it never was.

Damn. I completely forgot about that release. Which makes sense as I live nowhere near a Target store.

Roy Orbison released Mystery Girl, but I don't think it's been released by U2.

Of course, what with the massive number of singles they have, I wouldn't be surprised if I'd missed it.

a live song u2 didn't release...

(Link)
...that's a hard one. i heard them do michael jackson's billy jean. it was very short; i'll have to ask my friend what show that was. there are probably tons more. my friend and my ex are live u2 bootleg junkies. if i come up with more, i'll be sure to post, but the mj thing was something i never expected.

They've covered Help! several times over the years. I haven't been able to get a decent quality version of the song on mp3, though.

Then again, I haven't looked that hard as of yet.

That would probably be my favorite unreleased, then again I haven't heard many.

I really enjoy when they go into "Get Up, Stand Up" by Bob Marley live.

And dear god - "Fools Rush In".... woo! That is fantastic.

She's a Mystery to Me.

They wrote it for Roy Orbison but have never recorded it. They've never played Big Girls are Best live. Slow Dancing has been a b-side a couple of times, even Two Shots of Happy has been recorded.
