Hello Hello!!

January 20th, 2003

Yay! @ 12:32 am

I'm currently feelin: pleased pleased
I'm currently hearin: "Where The Streets Have No Name"

Tonight, I was at a "Dining With Friends" event to raise money for a local AIDS organization, and they played "Where The Streets Have No Name" on the sound system during dinner.

I was pleased. ^_^

And as such, I figured that Bono and the boys would rather me be there at an AIDS fundraiser, as opposed sitting at home on my duff watching the Golden Globes. Yup, I missed it. So if anybody can tell me where to READ the acceptance speech (I can't view it on this lame-ass computer), I would be eternally greatful. Thanks! =)

Bono: "That's really really fucking brilliant and really really great. And
y'know there's a lot of songs in films, and some great songs, and a couple
of U2 songs, but not often are the songs come out the characters and out of
the story of the film. This comes out of a conversation I had with Martin
Scorsese over ten years ago, and Harvey Wienstein banging and saying you
gotta do this. It's really a very very special night for our band. Would
you say something the Edge, please?"

Edge: "I just want to say that the films of Martin Scorsese made a massive
impact on us growing up in Dublin in the 70s. It's such a priviledge to be
a small part in one of his movies. And to Harvey for putting it together,
thank you so much. Thank you to the Hollywood Foreign press."
