I'm currently feelin: pensive pensive
I'm currently hearin: Coldplay

I've been a member here for a while, but this is my first time posting, so I'll just say a 'Hi there and hello' to everyone. Hi there and hello. I'm graduating from high school this year, and U2 has been a part of my life for a long time, but I really got into them just a few years ago. I'm now known as the U2 girl around school, heh. So, with graduation comes grad captions - A quote, lyric, or just words to remember me by. Of course, I decided that it's going to be a U2 lyric, but I can't seem to choose just one. I've narrowed it down to a few, and I decided to ask for help from fellow U2 fans. So here's what I have:

"Nothing left to win, And nothing left to lose."
"I don't believe in excess, success is to give."
"Time is a train, makes the future the past."
"We're free to fly the crimson sky, The sun won't melt our wings tonight."
"You miss too much these days if you stop to think."
"It's no secret that a friend is someone who lets you help. It's no secret that a liar won't believe anyone else."
"The days run away like horses over the hills."
"Who'll catch the star when it falls?"
"What you don't have you don't need it now."
"The only baggage you can bring is all that you can't leave behind."

I'm open for other suggestions too, so 'feel free'.

When I was a senior in high school, I, too, chose a U2 quote as my caption. It came from one of their older songs, "I Threw A Brick Through a Window":

"No one is blinder than he who will not see."

Of the ones you've got, I like these:
"We're free to fly the crimson sky, The sun won't melt our wings tonight."
"The only baggage you can bring is all that you can't leave behind."

Some others I've thought of:
"It's just a moment. This time will pass."
"You could have flown away, a singing bird in an open cage who will only fly for freedom."
"I don't want to see you cry. I know that this is not goodbye."
"Life should be fragrant, from rooftop to the basement."

Ooh - check out my bio and do what I did - re-arrange a bunch of lyrics to say something about you in a cryptical U2 paragraph!!

Time is a Train...makes the future the past...

"Time is a train, makes the future the past." <--I think that caption is almost perfect for a senior yearbook caption. :) It says so much in just one sentence. :)

Of course I would probably put "I'm ready for the push"...:) (look at my icon...;) )

I like "The only baggage you can bring is all that you can't leave behind."

In that same vein, I also like, "What you leave behind you don't miss anyway."

My other suggestions would be:
  • "Freedom looks like too many choices."
  • "What you don't know, you can feel somehow."
  • "Who's to say where the wind will take you?"
  • "Life should be fragrant, rooftop to the basement."
  • "Don't project, don't connect - protect. Don't expect - suggest."
  • "I'm not afraid to die; I'm not afraid to live; and when I'm flat on my back I hope to feel like I did."

and even though I'm not uber-religious, I'm spiritual enough to really dig these:
  • "If you want to kiss the sky, better learn how to kneel."
  • You gotta cry without weeping, talk without speaking, and scream without raising your voice."

Out of the choices you listed, I like "we're free to fly the crimson sky..."

But I think this one works....

"Monday morning, 18 years of dawning, and I say how long?"

    Or

"I want to tear down the walls that hold me inside."

    Oooo Oooo. I've got it!!!

"I'll be up with the sun....I'm not coming down!"

That's it! Right there. Shows over ladies and gentlemen! At least, that's what I'd choose.

"The days run away like horses over the hills."

I think when you graduate you will look back and find that those words are all too true, and it will continue to be true throughout life. Life's short, enjoy every day :)

    Good luck

btw what song is that from?
