Gaelic at the Oscars

They translated it in the Oscar version of People. I don't know if this is the exact quote, which I imagine you could find on the People website, but it was this:

"A thousand thank yous! And now, U2!"

Fairly simple. :)

Welcome! ::Waves::

fancy meeting you here. ;)

just wanted to say that i enjoyed your subject line very much, as i was a huge fan of the band CKTC back in the day. but i think they may have been a bit before your time. ;)

i believe it was "go raibh míle maith agat" (or "go raibh míle maith agaibh"), which means "a million thank yous" roughly. ("go raibh maith agat/agaibh" means literally "may there be goodness at you (singular/plural)" or more un-literally, "thank you (singular/plual).")

i could, of course, be wrong, the oscars being a long time ago and me only barely hearing a few irish words.
