Hello Hello!!

June 22nd, 2003

just curious...... @ 06:05 pm

I'm currently feelin: full full
I'm currently hearin: The Hives

I was having a discussion with a fellow u2 fan and we got on the subject of fans that go too far. I have read things in certain places, not here but in other places, where I've had to bite my tongue from saying somthing to these people. Certain thing people have done that they saw no problem with that in my mind just completely cross the line. So i ask you, in your opinion how far is too far?

The word fan is short for "fanatic", so just about anything a fan does wouldn't be surprising.

Maybe not surprising, but inappropriate? Say, going through someone's trash? Invading their personal space? Coming up to them while they are out at dinner with their families?

Yes, we are fans, but I think Loopaygirl's point is, shouldn't there be a line that we shouldn't cross? And where is that line as far as you are concerned?

There was a story on bbc online a while ago about "Celebrity Worship"; I don't know how they defined a person as having that 'disease', but when they put the celebrity ahead of their own family etc. etc. - it does raise questions. Some people go right off the deep end... stalking.. believing that the celebrity is 'the one for them', ad nauseam (c:
