Hello Hello!!

WOAH @ 10:25 pm

I'm currently feelin: ecstatic ecstatic

I bought today the DVD of The Making of the Joshua Tree. So I'm sitting here at home rearranging some shelves in my closet, doing a little cleaning, for the most part just listening to it. Then I come in and see the part where Brian Eno is telling his side of the story of how Streets nearly got erased and int he background is the guitar intro for it and suddenly i get this amazing, awesome picture in my mind...... The Joshua Tree. Suddenly I look around my apartment at the bleak white walls and decide that I will make the Joshua Tree.

Not a picture framed.....
Not a drawing on a sheet of paper...

But a life size PAINTING of the Joshua Tree in all black as it appears on the album directly onto the wall.

The first thought that should come to your minds (besides realizing you would also most likely do this) is how. The other question which I'll probably REALLY think about AFTER I paint it is..... BUT THIS IS AN APARTMENT! LOL

I can't wait to do this. I'll have do some ghetto copying of the tree shadow image onto some transparency film, then position it with a light behind it and try to project that shadow onto the wall so I can draw the outline. The painting willbe the easy part. The greatest moments in my life have been at U2 concerts and I think this would be a very befitting gesture. To hell with the renters! hehe

Ideas anyone?!

Ps. Oh yeah. We need to get a crew together and go burglarize Edge's studio. If you look behind him while he's in his personal studio picking ont he guitar you can see this AWESOME guitar with just U2 as the body.. Makes me want to learn to play guitar; even thought I would probably just learn how to play along with the boys and fulfill some weird, obsessive fantasies only you guys would understand :-P

while reading this, i actually was going to suggest gettin a transparency to do it... i think its a kick ass idea...

oh, and if you do it in watercolor, it will wash off eventually if you ever move... and it does work on walls, believe me i know

good luck!

Oh heck with washing it off. Most people don't know that apartment complexes are required to paint them after someone moves out. I'm gonna leave it! lol Maybe I might paint it in some glow-in-the-dark paint... ah the ideas.
