"Zoo Station"(Demo?) @ 07:33 pm

hapavox:
I was always confused about the track, "Bottoms"(Watashitachi No Ookina Yume). Many of you may know it as the instrumental track found on the 12" single of the Passengers "Miss Sarajevo" B-side. I'm still confused about its origins though. Some say it's just "Zoo Station" without the vocals...which is probably accurate. Others say it's the demo to "Zoo Station" recorded with just Eno when U2 toured Japan during the Lovetown Tour of 1990 and somehow decided to release it in 1995(4 years after the original finished version made it to Achtung Baby). Daniel Lanois is missing from the credits to this song too. I don't see why they would record the song again for kicks during the making of Original Soundtracks 1.

Blah.

i always just thought it was a remix. which, actually, is what it says on the passengers cd single:

bottoms (watashitachi no ookina yume) (zoo station remix)
music by passengers (b.e., bono, a.c., edge, l.m. jnr)
original recording produced by daniel lanois and brian eno. engineered by flood. assisted by shannon strong and robbie adams.
mixed by brian eno.

Thanks I did know about these credits because I also have the single of "Miss Sarajevo".

However...I just didn't see the Passenger's re-recording or remixing an existing track and re-naming it.

Then again, I also thought about how they kept "Bottoms" as an instrumental piece in the hopes of including it as background music for a film whether it be real or fictitious.

Thanks for your input though.
