"MOTHER where art Thou?" @ 01:08 pm

hapavox:
There used to be a MOTHER RECORDS website on the web. Now it's GONE!

It was an interesting website because it showcased the early groups that it signed like Cactus World News, In Tua Nua....and even HOTHOUSE FLOWERS who were probably the only group that stayed around. Mother also released some solo records that Bjork had which I thought was interesting. Many of you probably realize that the Mission Impossible Project by the "Other2" was also released by this label. Many of the groups on the soundtrack was signed to the label like Skunk Anansie, Longpigs and a couple others I can't remember...

Now, Mother seems like a goner! I say the grumpy-drummer boy bring it back!!!!

No. There was OFFICIAL site that was constructed with links and so mailing list information about the bands. It was a full-running record label website at one point.

No problem at all.

The list is interesting if you look at it. I suppose the band just never really invested enough time to developing the label as an independent.

Mother Music does exist as part of their publishing company as well as Blue Mountain Music.

Mother could've been her distribution label for the UK and Ireland during that time...that's why it has that label on it.
