Pop or Lemon? @ 11:21 pm

rob_dl:
Back in the 90's, did they play any songs from Lemon or Pop? I called in the other day to a alternative rock station that played U2 quite often, and requested "Staring at the Sun". They said they don't have that song.

Lemon?? You mean Zooropa? Numb, Stay and Lemon where quite big hits...getting a fair bit of airplay. Babyface got some air time too.

From POP...Discotheque was the big one...and Staring At The Sun and If God Will Send His Angles had some fair airplay too.

These days...my local rock radio station (TripleM Australia) still plays Numb, Stay and Lemon a fair bit. I'm always heaps happy when I hear them.

i wasn't a u2 fan at the time, and was still fairly young when zooropa came out, but the one song that i remembered hearing before when i went back and listened to the albums after becomming a fan was staring at the sun. i'm sure i missed some others though

also a friend of mine saw the numb video during that time frame. he thought edge was the lead singer of u2 for awhile after that

Does this question make anyone else feel really, really old?

Anyhow, yeah, "Stay" and "Lemon" got a fair amount of airplay, and the local staion in D.C. played "Discotheque" before it was even legally out. (It was all ove the Internet ... I downlaoded it, and it was a WAV and we had a 24K modem. I think it took about 45 min.) I can't rememebr specifically hearing "Staring at the Sun" on the radio much, but I'm sure they played all of the singles at least a couple times.
