In the past year, I've attended a few interesting gigs from different bands. In actuality I do like to attend the shows early to catch the opening acts and observe the flow of crowds and so forth. The interesting gigs I attended this past year involved The Rapture and Interpol. The Rapture's Warm-UP music consisted solely of Depeche Mode songs from their catalog for about 30 minutes straight. The 3 shows I saw Interpol in this past year was relatively the same as they like to blast The Cure, The Smiths, and a few from NewOrder's catalog before they get onstage. Now, U2's selection of warm-up music after the opening acts have been very diverse over the years. Over the years, I've heard tons of Beatles and Hendrix stuff. But I do remember my very first gig having a great selection. It was a ZooTv show and BP Fallon(DJ) played lots of Prince and The Supremes. For PopMart, the warm-up music consisted of a few Radiohead and some Oasis to go along with the Beatles and Hendrix stuff.
