U2/Bono Posters? @ 10:24 pm

kimmm:
I'm currently hearin: u2 - new york

Hey everyone!

I recently ordered 2 posters off of art.com:

Anyway, my question to you all is, have you ever been able to find U2/Bono posters any place offline? In a store? I.E. FYE, a record store, Spencers, etc. I've been looking for some for like 6 years now and I have come up empty handed each time.

Well that's all. Thanks :)

I saw both of those posters at a local poster shop here in Chicago. I wanted to get the Elevation poster, but when I went back there, they didn't have it, so I bought a really cool b&w poster with the guys going on their jet c. Achtung Baby. =)

Really? Damn. I need to move to Chicago, because Maryland sucks! I have yet to find any U2-related fan merchaindise other than CDs. I hate MD :)

BTW... I saw that poster over at art.com too! I almost got it, but I was like, "I love The Joshua Tree too much," lol

the only places ive been able to find those cool posters is at this place here in colorado called "recycle records" which is basically, one of those "mama's and papa's record stores" basically, one of those, small locally owned type deals.

ive bought a couple of zooropa/popmart promotional posters there, but unfortunately that place has been closed down for a few years now.

so basically, try those type of place, you'll have much better luck, than trying a best buy, media play, or mall outlet stores.

having said that, i know you're looking for offline places, but probably the best place is actually ebay.

hope that helps at all :)

Thanks :)
Unfortunately I don't know of any "mom and pop" record shops... I'll have to start harrassing my friends and see if they know of any in my area. Hmm... I may check out ebay too. Anyway, thanks again :)

The FYE near me never has any... :(
I'm planning on trying 'Sam Goody' as soon as I can find one in my area. Thanks :)

You betcher ass I've found U2 posters. Because I gots all mine *before* I had the internet.
First two were nice finds at yard sales in New Hampshire.
Then I got one from Spencer's, during Popmart.
Got a huge-ass promotional for Joshua Tree from Newberry Comics.
Last one I got was from the Elevation Tour.

Poster sales at my university usually have 2 or 3 different U2 posters up for sale. One of my friends bought me one a few months back - the one with all the album covers.

As for stores, there's a few small shops downtown in my city, where they sell all kinds of band t-shirts, posters, books, videos, etc. I find that these smaller, lesser known stores have better choice and/or quality than the big name stores.

I got my four U2 posters (Joshua Tree, album collage, ATYCLB, and another black and white with B, E, L and A portraits) from 'Athena' a poster shop in Conestoga Mall in London, Ontario. Anyone from that area, check it.

Yeah, I get my U2 posters from little local shops too. There's a great one near me which is owned by an Irish guy who brings *loads* of U2 merch over from Dublin whenever he visits!

I think the only posters of mine which didn't come from those shops were one from PushPosters and one that I bought at Earls Court after a U2 concert.
