The Poppyfields @ 02:01 pm

Okay all U2 Fans

There is a song being released on 9th Feb in the UK worth checking out ............ It is called 45rpm by the poppyfields .... now there is a very strong U2 link in this band with the fact that the front man of the Poppyfields is Mike Peters of the Alarm ....

Mike has been on stage a few times with U2 in the past and taught Bono to play Knocking On Heavans Door way back in the day ...

a loop of it can be found playing on http://www.thepoppyfields.com

Released as 2 cd singles and a 7" vinyl
cat numbers SMASCD054 - Cd1, SMASCD055 - cd2, SMAS7056 - 7"

If you like good guitar music and as we are all U2 fans here we must .. then its worth checking out this "raw" sounding punky track ...

I love that song!! I saw them live here in LA (under the name The Alarm with the new members) and they played a bunch of songs from this upcoming album. They did a mini club tour. Even saw a free concert they did in Malibu. If this goes over well they may go back to calling themselves The Alarm with the new incarnation. The new songs kick butt!!!

The Alarm are due back in the US in April for half a dozen dates .. no doubt 45rpm will be in the set again .... I'm off to see them on the next 4 dates of their UK tour tomorrow and can post info if wanted here when I get back .....

There is also talk of a festival appearance in Chicago in July for Mike Peters and or The Alarm ...
