I wonder how much it'll cost. Maybe I could rent it out and copy the U2 stuff. heh

It wont be cheap. But I suspect it will cost allot less than what that bootleger was charging. Similar DVDs go for about £50. Maybe they'll get sponsorship or something to keep the price down. When its going for a great cause like it will be doing, I'd pay upto £100 for it.

£50 = $100 US so...hmm sounds about right. It really depends on how many dvds are in the set. It could actually be cheaper. Who knows.

I've just dug out a Bob Geldof interview in a mag in which he says, Live Aid wont ever be released on CD or Video (before DVDs became big) because of the high costs that would be put to the buying public, unless he could figure out a way to keep the costs down. Hopefully he's figured that out.

I'm sure the dvds will do pretty well. I can see them doing a series of dvds. volume one and two etc., for lower costs

I certainly hope they keep with the liveaid theme and elect to give a large portion to charity.

Bob Geldof wouldn't have gave it the go ahead if it wasn't a non profit venture.

Some sites are predicting the charity will double its current budget with the DVD sales.

I was hoping so..
Sometimes it's hard to tell these things, especially when it's hard to tell who's putting things out. ;)

I'm sure that the charity will do well--if not from the U2 fan sales alone hehe ;)

Nope. If you clicked the link I posted, you'd find out its not defunct. We have things going on every year here in the UK to keep it going. This will be the biggest money spinner for the charity since the gig itself.

Accordding to the article, it was a 16 hour marathon. Was there televised portions, and are those the parts that are going to be on the DVD, or are going to be getting the entire 16 hours?

Still, this is cool :)
