I just clicked on my as-of-late neglected U2 playlist on iTunes...and "In God's Country" came on....and it brought me to tears. I mean, there's so much to be said about the band itself and I don't slight them in the least bit. But in this song (and I think in a lot of The Joshua Tree), Bono's voice is just so...emotionally resonant, so pure, so feeling, so honest, so intimate, so ridiculously...utterly beautiful.
don't you love it when you have moments like this with U2? not many other fans (of other bands), i think, get as frequent reaffirmations of how excellent/brilliant/beautiful one band's music can be.
