Well that's not true!! I thought Pop and the Zoo one sucked to high heaven (except for 'Staring at the Sun' which rocked) but I hung on in there till 'All You Can't Leave Behind' came out!

Pop and Zooropa weren't too bad in a musical sense, it's just that they'd lost their way I thought. I personally preferred the style of Boy and The Unforgettable Fire, and wasn't too keen on All You Can't Leave Behind, as it seemed to be a bit *too* pop, but a definite improvement. Hopefully the new album will be going in the direction of those early albums.

Indeed, Boy and Joshua Tree are my two faves. Like October and Rattle and Hum too, prolly joint second....
Definately prefer their earlier stuff.....
But then, I'm old! :p

I prefer their early work but I love Pop and Zooropa bc they are so bizarre and are out of the box.

hmm I don't think that's entirely true. I can think of lots of bands that made crap albums but came back to popularity.

And I LOVE POP. I have listened to it alot lately. It's an amazing album. I think my love for it grows each time I listen to it. I'd venture to say Zooropa is U2's worst album, but it's still a brilliant album. I have been loving on October and POP lately alot. U2's most under-appreciated albums :D

I love POP too. You couldn't tear me away from that album. Same goes for October.

My opinion on Zooropa differs from day to day. One day I think it's awesome, while another day I feel that it's got too much filler in it. "Zooropa," "Numb," "Stay," and "Lemon" will always be amazing though.
