Bono and O'Reilley @ 08:42 pm

wydok:
I'm currently feelin: enthralled

I think Bono did an excellent job on The O'Reilley Factor (on Fox News Network) tonight. He was speaking intelligently and made good arguments for why the United States should give more money to help Africa. I especially liked how he compared this with The Marshall Plan.

I was surprised how well O'Reilley treated him. Bill seems to me to be a big jerk most of the time, but not when talking to Bono. He had good questions, and presented his arguments well. Bono had a great comeback for each one.

It seems they agree, at least at some points. I wanted to go to the DATA rally in Philie, but I missed it to a previous engagement. However, I will probably be sending them a donation sometime soon. :)

I couldn't agree more with you.

I posted this elsewhere:
Bono handled himself wonderfully. He more than held his own. He proved how intelligent he is on the subjects he spoke about, his convictions were shown. He didn't back down, he was as quick even quicker than O'Reilly at times. He was passionate.

I completely agree. I'd never watched anything on Fox News before, and I was suprised at how decently they treated him. I really hope a lot of people were watching, because Bono was eloquent and passionate enough to convince anyone. (Or at least get people thinking.) And political!Bono is just sexy. *grin*

I agree he handled himself very well. O'Reilly seemed to suddenly tone down when he realized just how real and intelligent Bono was. Bono looked old though. I wish he'd dye his hair black and cut it shorter. Back to the sexy Irish rock star we all know and love hehe. Timeless dammit! But anyways back to the interview. O'Reilly IS a jerk and this coming from a moderate conservative. He's a real jerk to people but our man stuck up for himself and gave em hell.

Way to go Bono!

But please: Go back to the blue glasses and get some sleep! You look tired heheh

I completely agree with you in all that you said!

He was so passionate when he talked. Man, I even thought they'd get into a fight when they wouldn't agree, lol. B's really smart.

Actually, I like the hair better now that he trimmed it up a little. The color doesn't bother me at all, either.

Then again, I am a guy :)

Hmm, I seem to have missed this. Do you know if the interview is transcribed online anywhere?

I so agree with you!

I thought Bill would chew Bono up and spit him out. Instead Bill was pretty decent. I was very surprised and thought Bono was gracious (with not out rightly correcting Bill about Geldof's name), very intelligent, knew precisely what he was there to talk about and stuck to it. And Bono being non-partisan and simply being about getting things done that he believes in, I think is great! None of that political party nor liberal/conservative bashing for him! (I stopped watching the news because of so many people doing that.)

And I thought he looked great! I like the red in his hair--very Irish looking.

I tell ya, if he ever does run for president, I would vote for him! He seems pretty level headed and knowledgeable and without that "spin."

Oops. LOL I realized I should have phrased that a little differently and and added to it.

What I mean is if, by some miraculous change (and I don't think it's too unlikely, though doubtful), non-American born can run for President and Bono ran, *shrug* I'd vote for him. Or so I think today.

I think the whole "does" thing comes from Gov. Arnold here in CA and the talk, at some point, people had of law being changed and him running for President. I think that's why I think it is, very remotely, plausible.

I think I should have phrased it "if he ever could and did run for President...."

Sorry about that. :)

(psst! I had a pretty tortoiseshell cat, too ;)

I have been known, on occasion, to pray for the miraculous change in Constitutional laws that would allow him to be president. So I'm with you on the sentiment. lol

Although my friend did point out to me that he would be able to be Secretary of State...which would be nifty.

I wonder if he would be called Secretary of State, Bono or Secretary of State, Paul Hewson....*g*
