UPDATE: BOMBS AWAY!

Re: this post from Wednesday, Sept. 8 -- @U2 has received a second confirmation, and from a reliable source, that the album will be called How to Dismantle an Atomic Bomb. Our second source disputes the previous report that there will be a bonus track on the "deluxe" edition of the album. And as far as U2 touring down under, this source says it should happen in December, 2005, or March, 2006.

I liked Vertigo myself.

I like Vertigo too. It's brilliant to get an idea when they'll be heading Down Under ... time to start a U2 Concert fund! XD

Not entirely surprised...I was getting the impression that Vertigo wasn't going to be the name of the actual album, but of the obligatory single that gets released before an album comes out.

The title, is a typical rock album. It gives you the idea that it could be U2's most social driven album, but who knows. They have the gift of turning something ordinary into something magical. I'm sure it's going to be their best album to date, I know that for sure. U2 rocks our world!!

thanks for the info!

I agree

I agree, this album is going to be great.

While the wait was long for this album, it was well worth it. The expectations for this album have been high ever since the end of Elevation Tour 2001, and the last thing our boys needed would be another POP (all due respect to the POP martians out there.)

I have a feeling this tour is going to do a job on my credit card. Time to get a part time job, as if 16.5 credits at PSU weren't enough.

This is so cosmic....I live in State College, too! Sadly, I'm still in high school. :Þ Glad to know there's at least one other fan around here, though! Wouyldn't it be awesome if U2 came to the BJC or Beaver Stadium?

I don't know about Beaver Stadium, but the BJC sounds reasonable. I think they would draw a good crowd, considering fans from Philly and Pit would probably make the journey, in addition to any penn staters and locals. If Dave Matthews and his liberal posse can play here, then U2 can too.

I wish they'd come to Syracuse; we totally have the space for them but I think the university stopped booking concerts a couple of years ago. Hopefully I'll be home when they choose to hit Boston.

Actually, I think they'd be more likely to go to Beaver Stadium, if they were going for a stadium tour again. The BJC has just over 15000 seats- U2 has sold out venues twice as large. Besides, U2 is so much bigger than DMB. So, it's probably wishful thinking to get them to State College, but still...it would rock!
