what a stupid name for an album! ALL THAT YOU CAN'T LEAVE BEHIND wasn't that good either in my opinion. VERTIGO or SONAR would have been much better.

Yipee! Much better than "Vertigo", if you ask me. Vertigo sounds like an album any other band would put out.

The name reminds me of "Seconds" on the War album. Also a couple of other songs on that album. So maybe, like with that album, we really will hear the Edge's anger and it's just not Bono babbling!

I don't know why everyone hates HTDAAB (hehehe, I'm shortening it already). I love the title! It really sort of...slaps you in the face, you know? It sounds like it could be an angry type of album...and that name definitely screams "cool".

Random observation: Bono's hair looks slightly feminine. :D

I take comfort in the fact that there is more HTDAAB positivity over on Interference. I think it's an amazing title, definitely the best of all of those that have been rumoured, and to me, it implies a powerful record ... not necessarily angry, but answering anger. Whatever the case, the band are obviously feeling very confident with their work if they are prepared to name it that.

"H...how to...dis...bomb???" We need a poll.

(Link)

Okay...somebody needs to post a poll on this mofo. Likert scale-style. "How do you like U2's new album title, 'How to Dismantle an Atomic Bomb?" 1. Love it 2. Like it 3. Neutral/indifferent 4. Dislike it 5. Hate it

Listen, i Love this band to pieces, and that's not going to change one bit. But the title is disappointing. As always, personal taste. I actually liked "All That You Can't Leave Behind" (we're talking titles, of course we all love the music). Who can deny that "The Unforgettable Fire" was a fantastic title? Anyways. There's my two cents. Here's hoping someone is kind enough to get a poll going.

Best U2 album title besides Under A Blood Red Sky. All the detractors clearly don't have a clue what they are talking about. It's an amazing title that makes you turn around and take notice; it implies a powerful record, but not necessarily one just venting anger, but providing answers to the anger as well. This album is going to blow everyone away (no pun intended), and it has an awesome title. U2 wouldn't put the word 'bomb' in the title if they didn't think it was full of some of the best music ever made.

On the photo;
Bono - looks younger than he actually is.
Edge - needs to grow some hair and get rid of that beanie, but is otherwise cool.
Adam - looks posh, as per usual.
Larry - needs smaller sunglasses.

I agree that the Edge needs to lose the beanie and Bono does looks younger but I'm not sure I like his hair.

Not a big fan of the album title--really liked Vertigo better though it did seem a little generic, and I don't much like the idea of using a song title as the album title too. It'll probably grow on me though.

As for the picture, I think they all look great, although I'm wondering exactly when Larry turned into Adam.

I suppose he had to age sometime.
I love Adam's hair; I hope he doesn't dye it.

Bono has Lenny Kravitz-esque flat iron hair.
I love Corbijn's photography (I'm assuming it's his).
Kind of reminds me of this picture from the Best Of 1990-2000:

Bono looks damn fine. MM. Larry DOES look a bit like Adam 0.o

Anyone else notice Larry's "Since 1977" shirt? Gee, whatever could that be referring to? (Rhetorical question)

Shouldn't it then be "since 1976"?

Album title: I have mixed feelings. The fact that they have chosen a title just gets me closer to the fact that this album is being released. I've very excited. I think it's a very interesting album title, and i dont think we can really judge it until we know and experience the contents OF the album. I like the title, esp with the times we are in right now. However, i'm sure there was something else they could have used. I'm glad Vertigo was passed over.

Bono looks great..wish i could see him head on so i could really critique his hair. i know he won't go back to achtung baby/zooropa hair, but i wish he would. it was so lovely. he will always be hot as hell to me though.

Edge, no shave. i like him the way it is.

Adam looks great.

Larry definitely looks older in my opinion, but still great!

It's a bloody brilliant title, if one actually stops to consider the context. It's about the content and timeliness of the album, not the trendiness of the phrase choice/construction.

I have to respectfully disagree. I think a title should be timeless rather than timely. If it's both, as I think this one can be, all the better. It's sort of like how most of the songs on All That You Can't Leave Behind were meaningful prior to 9/11, but seemed to fit into the times even better afterwards. The title may have meaning for us now, but I'm hoping that it can stand the test of time.
