Hmm, I'd be a bit suspicious of this 'Vertigo' that they have found.

Do they have an online feed?

Yup, they do -- here. You do have to have Windows Media Player. I just tuned in and caught the last few seconds of a clip of Vertigo that sounded like the real thing!! I will definitely be listening to this tomorrow afternoon -- does anyone have plans to record it? And what kind of software could I use to try to record it myself?

Ah yes, I discovered that not long after I made my comment. I'm glad it uses Windows Media Player because my Real Player hates me and I can't get Dave Fanning's feed to work. You heard a clip of it? Oh wow ... I was listening earlier, but I hated the music they were playing so I turned it off to free up bandwidth.

I'll DEFINITELY be listening tomorrow, and I'll be recording. There are probably much better ways to do it than I do, but if you have Windows Movie Maker in your Accessories menu (I think all Windows machines do), you can record. 'File' --> 'Record ...' and then the 'Record' button. You might want to go into 'Change Device' and fiddle with the stuff in there - I get the best results when I use Mono Out, or sometimes Wave Mix Out. Experiment with it, test it on the feed before they play Vertigo, and you should be ready to go if/when they do play it!

Yup, it definitely seemed legit to me; it sounded like part of what we've already heard, but with much, much better quality. I listened to the station for a while and heard the clip again, so I really think it's the real thing and they'll be playing it. I just wonder where on earth they found it online!! Very, very strange. But if they do end up not playing it I'll only lose about half an hour of time. You turned it off, Andre? But they played your favorite song, "Hey Ya!" Haha yeah, I didn't like the music they were playing either, so I won't be listening again until tomorrow afternoon.

Thanks! I had no idea that program even existed, but I'll be trying it out for sure. I also downloaded a couple of extra programs to use, so I may be making three recordings tomorrow, hehe. I can't wait!!

It would be too amazing if they really do play it. I think the "we found it online" thing could be talk, or they employ some wonderful hackers. "We found it online" could cover a whole range of things too ... apparently some bootleggers claim to have the whole HTDAAB CD right now but won't risk releasing it, so you never know who these people are in contact with, and they don't seem to be afraid of Universal/Interscope!

And urgh, now I'm really glad I turned it off! I've checked the website a couple of times and noted the rubbish in their 'now playing' section.

If you get a chance to test out those programs, tell me what your results are like and if one's particularly good, I'll download it to make a copy myself. If you could, please be on AIM when the song is supposedly going to be played (just with AIM sounds turned off so that there's no noises during the song), so that after it, we can compare the quality of our recordings. I'll be sending it out to a LOT of people and if you record something better than I do, I'd rather send that.

I think it's more like "we got the CD early....not supposed to play it unitl Friday...but stuff it...we'll play it early for our ratings!"

Yeah, well, WERE going to play it early. They're now saying they can't play it until Friday!

Oh well, at least we got five seconds of the song out of them on an ad!
