I'm currently feelin: pleased pleased

This has to be one of the best U2 stories of alltime! Awesome stuff.

Imagine having that in your loft!! I should think those guys should get the VIP treatment the next time U2 play in the area.

I know, my jaw was scraping on the ground the whole way through that article!  Never in a million years did I think that stuff would ever surface. Amazing. I wish I could present Bono with something that special!

OH MY FREAKING CRAP!!!!!!!!!! I always wondered what happened to that... sortof assumed whoever stole it was hanging on to it for bragging rights or something.

Wow. Just wow.

It's good that they decided to give it back to whom it belongs, but too bad it took them 23 years...

No, they shouldn't receive VIP passes or anything at all. They stole the suitcase in the first place!
JAIL!JAIL!JAIL!

Didn't it say in the article that Cindy found the contents in the attic of a house that she had bought? So, she didn't steal anything, she just happened to stumble across it.

That they went through the proper channels and didn't try to get something out of the band for it should be commended. :)

Well, she bought something that was stolen, so it's still wrong... What would you say if someone bought the stolen copy of HTDAAB?

But yeah, Bono and the lads were lucky it didn't end up in the wrong hands.

Did I miss something?

She bought a house. She found the material in the attic of the house.

Was the house stolen? :-/

LOL. Don't worry about it. ;)

For the record, if somebody bought something of U2's that was stolen (or lost, heh), I wouldn't look kindly on it. If you're a big enough U2 fan to be collecting memorabilia, you'd know about something like this, and profitting from it isn't cool.

Well, she bought something that was stolen, so it's still wrong...

Read the article again. She found the contents of the case inside of a loft of a house she moved into. She stole nothing.

Of course this story could have been made up to cover the fact she did indeed steal the briefcase... but I'm pretty sure PM would have checked out her story before going ahead with the handover.

Whoa, that's cosmic.

I hope U2 decides to make the contents of the briefcase public! Wouldn't that be cool?

I'm from Salem, Oregon (about 45 minutes south of Portland).......And I would have gone to see Bono speak and seen this historic event....BUT.....I am at school right now in Nashville! Dang it!!!!

that is pretty damn shocking, being an old fogie U2 fan from 1983, I have been hearing about the story of the missing suitcase forever...I cannot believe that it has been found. Wild.

OH MY LORD. That is so awesome. I wish I could've seen what happened when they got it back! Maybe I should buy a house, see if I can find that notebook lying behind a couch, or something. ;) That wasn't ever returned, was it? o.O

That's nothing. You know the B-52's? You know that former member Ricky who died of AIDS? Well, I found his dead gay lover in the attic of my house.
