Hello Hello!!

saccage:
Alright, after the family has gotten their fill of turkey and fixins we're all going to go to the graveyard of my cousin/best friend, read letters written to him - toss them into an urn of sorts and light them aflame so that they are carried off to heaven. I've not had the best of luck trying to write a letter to save my life and I don't want to arrive empty handed.

Can anyone suggest a U2 song that I could use for such occasion, or listen too to grasp inspiration to write? I know that if I just sit back, remember how they where I could think of a letter but I'd really appreciate the help, nonetheless.

Thanx.

I would say "stay (faraway, so close)" when dealing with the death of a loved one you often feel helpless, and this is a song that pretty much hits the helpless nail on the head. When you can open up to that part of yourself, or admit it as a part of all the other things you're feeling, you can begin to overcome it.

I....iono, I'm sorry if that makes no sense, or doesn't help at all.

Sometimes is a great song too.

good luck!

Pretty much anything off Boy is good. With our Without You of course. Tomorrow from October, Drowing Man from War, Bad from Unforgettable Fire, and Walk On are ones I'd also recommend, but pretty much anything that involves Bono using that amazing voice of his is inspiration.

Thanks. :)

When I was typing this, I kept hearing the lyrics to "Kite" in my head but I wasn't all too sure if it'd help or what. Buut, I'll make a list, and listen to what's given.

I'm so sorry for what you've lost.

One Tree Hill... perhaps may help.

I agree that you should try "One Tree Hill", but to be unique I'll recommend "If God Will Send His Angels" and "Peace On Earth".

I'd love to hear "If God Would Send His Angels" But I don't have that song. Could someone mayhaps give me a link to where its mp3 is hosted or send it to me?

I'm uploading it to yousendit.com. I'll post the link once it's done. Silly dial-up.

I'm sorry about your loss. The first song that comes to mind is "Sometimes You Can't Make It Alone" from HTDAAB.

hew: Ooh, that is nice. It makes me want to cry, even. Kindly tell what album this is on, please? I must have this song in my collection. Until then, how long will this stay online? I can't save mp3 files to my system due to lack of space.

creme: I liked that song alot, and I just listened too it by accident, really. I just wanted to hear Vertigo and then switch disks but all changed when this song played.

...

Thanks everyone! I appreciate the help as it worked and I'm off to write the letter, now.

As for "Kite" I'm also copying the lyrics out of the book and letting his mother hear the song, tomorrow. If I remember to grab it on the way out the door.

Goodnight!

'If God Will Send His Angels' is from Pop, U2's most criminally underrated album.

And it's also on the City of Angels soundtrack.
