Everyone seems to have different views on the new CD and different favorite songs..which I find interesting. I, personally, love it. There's this line in a Bowie song that goes, "Ain't there one damn song that can make me break down and cry?!"

The entirety of How to Dismantle an Atomic Bomb accomplishes just that. Maybe it's because I saw it live before I heard it on a stereo. I don't know. But I've been blasting the CD for the past couple days ..and i really feel it. I think U2 have become really great at making music that just sounds..beautiful. No other way to describe it. Even just the intrumental sections in the beginning of the songs are sublime.

Go here to see video of the show from Monday. It is tres cool.

PS-- Happy Thanksgiving!

What could have made this album absolutely "perfecto" in the tearjerker category was if they, instead of the Yeah Yeah Yeahs, wrote "Maps".

That song gets me every time.

I can hear Bono singing that.

Gotta love the fact that Bono sampled Young Americans during Elevation. My musical backround began with David Bowie (not the Beatles) and I see alot more of his repetoire in U2 than the latter. Thanks for the link!

"Ain't there one damn song that can make me break down and cry?!"

That's my favourite line from Young Americans... I'm loving that someone made a Bowie connection here. :D

And yep, lots of HTDAAB makes me cry - some of it through being incredibly moving and some of it through making me so happy. :)
