Hello Hello!!

GRAMMY Nods @ 10:01 am

manic_artist:
I'm currently feelin: restless ready to be done with school
I'm currently hearin: "Cannonball" - Damien Rice

U2 was nominated for several GRAMMYs. I did not know this.

- Best Rock Performance: "Vertigo"
- Best Rock Song: "Vertigo"
- Best Short Form Music Video: "Vertigo"

Unfortunately, they are up against Green Day for all of these categories...
...and I love Green Day (American Idiot is brilliant).

(Sorry if this was previously posted.)

Released too late...

Same as Beautiful Day nominated in 2000 I think it was and then All That You Can't Leave Behind in 2001.

Unfortunate for you, but lucky for me, because all the Green Day fans where I live have pretty much ruined me for that band. No offense, because I'm aware that Green Day is a good band, but I won't be shedding any tears if Vertigo walks all over them Grammy night.

Assuming How to Dismantle an Atomic Bomb makes it to the Grammys next year, which it should, I sincerely hope that it doesn't get screwed over by the (most likely undeserved) hype surrounding any surprise new artists like All That You Can't Leave Behind did.

I think "Vertigo" is up against the song "American Idiot" in each of those catergories? I guess it's funny but I don't think the song "American Idiot" is that great at all, it sounds like any other Green Day song. It's the REST OF THE ALBUM that freakin blew my mind, and is a step in a whole new direction for Green Day. Jesus of Suburbia -> Holiday -> Boulevard of Broken Dreams is like the best however many minutes of music in a row on a CD I've heard in a long, long time. I think I've said that before in here... oh well :-)
