Questions about General Admission @ 04:48 pm

skylark74:
I'm currently feelin: curious curious

Are the best seats are in GA? Should I buy the high priced tickets? I plan to see more than one of their concerts so I guess I could buy one concert at GA just to see what its like.

Whether it was a good or bad experience, I'd like to hear some stories from any of you who have bought GA.

Go with GA!!!

Best concert experience of my life was on the floor in Washington DC for the Elevation tour. People were really nice, no pushing or shoving. I'm pretty tall, so I could see fine (and it was great how close I was able to get!).

GA is where to be. But you you wont find any seats in GA! Its standing room only. The best way to experience a U2 concert.

I had GA tickets for 10/30 in Providence. Not only did I have to pull strings to get the tickets, but I waited outside in the cold in line to get in. I got inside the heart, and had one of the best experiences of my life.

definately get general admission, i did for elevation and it was amazing. i got there a couple hours early (probably closer to 5-6) and wound up like 5 feet from the sage, was soooooooooooooooooooo cool. plus i'm relatively short (5'4") but since the stage is elevated you can see fine (only times i had issues seeing was when they went over to the back of the heart)

I haven't done GA yet and I'm kinda worried about it because I'm really short (5 ft), but there's no way in hell I'm doing seats again. I bought the most expensive seats for Elevation and they were about as far from the stage as you could get. Don't waste your money, you'll only feel terrible about missing the atmosphere on the floor.

Annie do not worry that stage is so high up and U2 fans generally are very nice and will let your short ass stand in front of them.

And dang, YOU are short enough that Bono may just pull you up with him and dance with you!

Oh and for those of you worried about standing in line for hours to get good spots--it depends on what you want. Last time I didn't get one of the coveted spots "in the heart". I actually traded another fan for my GA about an hour before the doors opened. I ended up about 5 people back from the tip of the heart, which was great for the whole show and particularly nice when the band members would venture out. During "Desire" the whole band was out there and it was very intimate. They've had B-stages for years, so even if you aren't close to the "regular" stage there's still a good chance to get close.

If you want to be on the floor but don't want to be surrounded by people, there was still plenty of room, especially if you didn't mind being a little further back. I definitely didn't mind the crush... I did get some beer spilled on me by enthusiastic fans though. Actually, that's how I ended up getting closer. I already had beer on my jeans and shoes, so stepping in the giant beer puddle that everyone was avoiding didn't bother me. ;)

I was on the floor for 2 shows during the elevation tour. In both cases, I couldn't get into the heart because i didn't care to wait all day at the venue.

We were able to get very close to the outside of the heart. Having Bono several feet from you is a expereince that's hard to match....

I highly reccomend securing GA tickets.
