Ground Beneath Her Feet is a good song. I can't believe it went to waste in a lame movie and a foriegn version of ATYCLB.

I love that song. I even bought the soundtrack to the million dollar hotel when it was first released just for that song.

yeah, salman rushdie wrote the words to that song... or "wrote it with U2"... that book IS amazing, one of my favorites.

i have a live version, though its audience, and the audience is yelling obnoxious stuff throughout the song... it's just edge playing acoustic guitar and bono singing it. excellent.

it's better to have some songs be a little more obscure and a little more difficult to find. its no fun for the die-hard fans if everything is totally accessible.

I *adore* the book!  I sometimes sing TGBHF with the extra verse that Salman included.

I used to have an awesome live version of that song from back before it was released as a single. I really wish I still had that MP3 because I loved it. And I bought the Million Dollar Hotel soundtrack for that song... I don't much like the album versio of it. Its a great song, but I loved my mp3...

what did your mp3 sound like? Was it an incomplete version with Bono, Edge, and a drum machine?

Hey, America can't have everything. I, a foreigner(!), take that song as my no-Elevation-tour consolation prize.

Don't worry New Zealander, you guys (meaning all outside the US) get the cool B-sides of which I am very jealous ;)

MDH is a really fantastic movie.

The cinematography, the storyline, the acting... not to mention one of the best opening lines ever, and a great soundtrack.

I've had it for a couple of years now and I still haven't watched it. I think I rented Entropy three times before I actually watched it. I don't know what my problem is.

See, I never really liked Entropy. Granted, I was using massive amounts of nyquill while watching, so maybe I should give it another chance.

MDH on the other hand... I think I stopped breathing after the last shot.

I just can't stand Stephen Dorff.

I love Jeremy Davies... damnit. I should watch it already. Perhaps later today...

The UK and maybe Aussie and Japan versions.

Personally I think all copies and verions outside of the UK and Eire are the foreign ones but that's just me :p

Same here

I find it funny an American can whine that we got one extra track on a U2 album when U2 are doing/ have done countless shows in America and only came here (Ireland, where they are from remember) twice for the elevation tour and it was originally only going to be one show.

I wasn't whining that Americans didn't get the song on ATYCLB. I just thought that the band should have given the song more exposure than they did. I have the song, just like I have "Fast Cars." It not being on an album doesn't really affect me.

And I've never been to a U2 show... although I am planning to go to this upcoming tour.

I love that song, the album version is real spacey and ethereal and totally fits the weird mood by the end of the movie. I return to that soundtrack when im in weird moods, same goes for Passengers. The movie is very different to say the least, i have to be in a very abstract mood to watch it. But hey, Bono wrote it and that's cool. It's a decent indie-art film.

I really want to see Faraway So Close!, also directed by Wim Wenders

I've seen Faraway, So Close... I quite liked it, but it really confused me in places. I have it on video somewhere so I ought to watch it again sometime!  I still haven't seen Wings Of Desire, although I saw the remake (City Of Angels).

Have you seen Until The End Of The World?  That was another weird one, but with cool bits.

You *need* to see Wings of Desire. One of the best films ever, period. And it will definitely help you understand Faraway, So Close!, which is like a sequel to it ... Let's just say City of Angels is an horrible bastardization of WoD.
