Question @ 10:45 am

lesamalie:
Hi.
I went to the second leg of the Elevation tour in Dallas and was so dazzled and amazed and moved that I decided that next time around I would go to as many shows in my area as possible. I live in Chicago now and they have two shows, May 7 and May 9, right after each other. I'm worried that the concerts will be exactly the same and maybe I should wait a bit until the schedule a concert for Wisconsin or somewhere else close before I shell out that much money for the same concert twice.

Anyone have any experience with going to two shows in a row?

Yes you'll be going to see the same show. Maybe a few different setlist changes, but essentially the same show.

If you dont want to see the same show, just buy a ticket for 1 show.

I try to go and see as many shows as possible. If that means seeing them 2 or 3 nights in a row, that is fine with me. Yes it is seeing the same show again but you never know what is going to happen that night, it could be one of their best shows ever. To me every show is magic. I take every opportunity I get to see them because you just never know if that could be the last time. This is just one old timer's opinion. :D

i second that motion. two nights in a row of U2 is never the same, even if the songs are relatively the same. and its worth it.

in my opinion, you'll never see the same show even if you go two nights in a row. setlist changes, mood of the band, mood of the crowd, tidbits stuck in songs...you never know

and even if the shows are pretty similar - do you really think you'll mind?
I know I wouldn't. I went to an LA show and then a san diego show within a week? of each other...went with different people each time, one time I had nosebleed seats and the other I was on the floor about 5-10 feet away from the catwalk. fantastic borth times, different perspectives, different feelings. I liked seeing the whole arena from afar...how the lights and colors played and how the crowd reacted (lighters etc).

closer was obviously better though ;)

i saw the houston and then the dallas show one day after the other..

i mean, sure it was cool.
the second date had no changes that i can think of.. well, actually they didnt play the sweetest thing, which was allright by me.

the impact wasnt really the same, between 97 and the houston show, i hand almost a 5 year wait since the last tour. thats a helluva buildup.
then i had to wait a whole 24 hours until the next one..well, though i had better tickets, i prob enjoyed the first night more.

For Elevation I went to all four Boston shows and they were fabulous. You will have a blast and each show will be different.
