Another Perspective.... @ 12:04 am

angelkitten13:
I'm currently feelin: hopeful hopeful
I'm currently hearin: U2: Please

After reading everything that's been going on, I suddenly felt the need to chime in and give my two cents worth. Please don't flame me.....I'm just being...I dunno, actually.

I've been a U2 fan for seven years. It all started when I saw the "Please" video. I knew about them, sure. I just never paid all that much attention to them until then. I know, shock...gasp! Now, I have several of the CDs, the iPod, I'm attempting to download The Complete U2 (--don't ask!), and...I think that's it.

Now, this is the second tour when I've been a fan and I would love to go. I wasn't able to even think about it during the Elevation tour due to finances the first time and really bad timing the second time (They came through Denver twice) Besides, I thought that there would be other tours.

Now, I'm hearing all the news and heartache about the presale woes. And, frankly, I feel that everyone got ripped off. $40 for the U2.com membership and then codes that don't work. It makes you wonder what will happen next.

I've never been to a concert, much less a U2 concert. No, I'm not kidding. I've had a rather sheltered life and an ex that never wanted to spend money unless it directly benefited him.

So, on Saturday morning, I plan on getting up and heading out to a Ticketmaster outlet and hope that I get tickets. WIth all that's been going on, I will be happy to get nosebleed seats.

To be honest, I just wanna go....just for the sake of going. I don't care where I'm sitting. I really don't. Like I said, I just wanna go.

My question is this: Are there more people like me that just want to go and see the band? There has to be. I mean, kudos to the people that got the GA tickets. I envy you. But, I just want to be able to go. And, it's all luck of the draw. It kinda sucks.

Anyway, I hope you all understand what I'm saying. I'm not trying to offend anyone. I just wanted to say that there is someone who sees it way differently.

At my core, I don't care what kind of seats I got. I get to see U2!!!

Everytime I've seen them, it's been the most amazing night of my life... I'm upset only because I paid $40 extra for a chance at decent seats... I'd like to be close, maybe even take some photos with the camera I'd planned on sneaking in... I'd like to see them, actually SEE them... I go to so many shows, and I love getting to SEE the band.
With seats that are technically in back of the stage, I don't know if that'll happen.

I'm going to try again Saturday for floor tickets to another show. I've seen just about every other band I like multiple times on the same tour... I haven't been able to do it with U2 yet... maybe this will be my year.

I always am on the floor. It's the best place to be. Close to my band. There were two times last tour... once I had nosebleeds which in all reality were not that bad except for I am afraid of heights and thought I was going to fall, and the other.... horrible... in the back of the arena - most expensive tickets I had to buy last tour. The floor is the only way I can be truly happy. Camping with my fellow freaks all day is what I like - the only way I want to go! It's like a drug.

I will be soooo happy if i even get tickets at all on saturday, luckly im here in boston and the fleet center has great seats wherever you sit, and ive seen many concerts there and have sat in the balcony and all the way down to the floor. Lucky me by so chance of luck i got floor seats for the elevation tour it wasnt in the heart but it was still damn close, and that is an experince ill never forget, but i just want tix i dont care where they are. They are playing here 8 days before my birthday so it will be a very happy b-day to me if i can rock out with U2 for it. basically as long as im there thats all that matters.

I'll just be happy to be in the building. Believe me, you haven't offended me, I feel exactly the same.

i'm totally with you. i've done my share of bitching about the presale and the lack of GA tickets and whatever, but honestly i'm just lucky to have ANY tickets. and i'm excited. i could be at the very back and at the top of the nosebleeds, and i'm sure it'd still be amazing. because it's U2.

Good luck with getting tickets on Saturday. I know I will definitely be taking seats where ever I get them this time around. I'm there to enjoy the music.

I opted for seats by choice. I'm a little too claustrophobic for GA. This will by my first u2 concert and my first time at the Pepsi Center. I'll be sec 128 row 5.. I took what I could get first in the presale. I was on 10 am and on dial up. So I didn't even think I would have much of a shot anyway.. But I had to try. The seats could have been better or worse from refreshing but either way, the way I saw it from the beginning I would be lucky to have any at all. If they were crappy-er I still would have just taken them. Especially now hearing how a lot of people probably wont have the chance of going, or lost their code in the process. I am thankful I stuck with what they first gave me. I feel very fortunate and content to count my blessings. I wish you the best with getting your tickets Saturday. As long as you can get there regardless I am sure it will be more then worth it!

I feel the same way you do. If the band happens to play somewhere close to me in the fall, I'll be happy with a nosebleed seat. I saw them up close on the ZOO TV tour, and that's enough for me. I don't have the patience or stamina to wait for hours and hours for a GA seat. The only thing that bugs me about the whole $40 membership is I didn't know the set-up would be the same as the Elevation tour (meaning the cheaper, general admission seats). I thought I'd be getting better seats with the priority ticketing, but oh, well. As long as I'm there! :o)

This will be my first U2 concert. My wife and I decided to go GA or not go at all. We might change our minds when the tickets are gone though...
